Ghia Rebirth

Sold in a moment of collection shrinking weakness, Andy developed feelings of regret and longing for his old Ghia. Could we source and restore another Karman Ghia to the same caliber as once before?

Sometimes, They Arrive in Boxes…

Projects started, documented, collected, found, stolen, bought and sold… Sometimes vintage cars have a large story to tell, only to be seen through what does, and does not remain. All we know is, whatever the story is, we have to figure it out as best we can, and bring the vehicle back to life.

The Family Car: Aston Martin DB5C

First meeting our hands in 1991, chassis 1288 that was lovingly restored over 30 years ago was faced with a refresh. This family heirloom adorned some wear and age marks as a result of time and use, but it’s no task too large for us here at ARI.

A Pandemic Project: V8 Aston

Ferrari Foe: ATS

What happens when two top Ferrari employees leave Ferrari during The Great Walkout? They form Automobili Turismo e Sport, in attempts to bring Ferrari to it’s demise.

Porsche: Done Just Right

One of our good clients, Simon, sourced a relatively unmolested, numbers matching 1971 911S tucked away in northern Connecticut. Simon started the disassembly, while soon after we began taking the car to bare metal and starting the restoration.

Head Over Healeys

Sometimes, it’s just a minor mishap. Other times, it’s a complete frame up restoration. Whether it’s less or more, we find ourselves commonly working on iconic Austin Healeys.

A Small Story…

About an even smaller car. Collector Nick was in search of a proper Bantam built by Austin in the US. ARI partner Brian Oliver came to the rescue with a wonderful example, as well as providing a fresh service to allow enjoyment down the road.

A Silver Lining

After searching for what felt like an eternity, Tony was unable to find himself a black on black Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III. The next best thing? Finding the best example available on the market, and applying the OEM standard black color procedure.

A Pegaso Gathering

It’s not often that we get vehicles in the shop that come from the same assembly line… Now how about two cars, on the same assembly line, one after another? This is a story of Pegaso Z102 chassis numbers 0149 and 0150 starting life together, and coming together again over 60 years later for back to back restorations, together.

Tell-tale Sounds

Andy’s 1926 Kissel 8-75 Speedster was enjoyed by him and Elizabeth for occasional tours and short drives over the years. Over time, a discreet dull thud became more, and more apparent, only leading to one thing…

Fixing Ferraris, V1: A Tale of the Tape

Another shop had started assembly of this Daytona…But why were all of the hinged panels and glass still out of the car? A nightmare of inaccurate metalwork under fresh paint led to ARI cleaning the slate, and starting with a long list of correction.

Fixing Ferraris, V2: A Tale of the Tank

What started as a small fuel leak, revealed to be a result of a novel tank repair. What to do when a 1955 Ferrari Europa gas tank is nowhere to be found? Our fabricators took out their drawing boards and got to work recreating this tank entirely from scratch.

Hindsight: A Collectors Rethink

Taking OEM+ to the next level with a 1963 Pontiac Lemans, we see the scope of ARI’s talent, combined with the ingenuity of the owner behind this Lemans.

Tales of Tops

Two vintage roadsters from different parts of the world enjoy entirely custom measured and in house produced convertible tops.

Flashback Toyota

184,000+ Miles on any car can do a number on it… But Ray’s Toyota Supra was in surprisingly good condition given the mileage. Nonetheless, Ray decided it was time for it to go back to when it was brand new, and we made it happen.

Sold and Down the Road…

One thing COVID did not hold back with the classic car sales industry… Check out some of the gems that have come and gone through our doors.
