1965 Beach MK4B
The MK4 was the first chassis produced under the "Beach" nameplate, with previous cars falling under the Berga collaboration between Gene Beach and Henry Grady. The MK4 built upon previous racing experience which improved the MK3 design substantially. The suspension and brakes utilized modified Austin Healey Sprite components while the car's front end was lowered for improved aerodynamics. Though the original MK4 design utilized a BMW 750, later examples were powered by a wide range of engines sourced from Datsun, Mini Cooper, Sunbeam, and more.
This 1965 Beach MK4 was initially delivered with a Fiat/Abarth 1000 twin-cam engine. It is now powered by a Fiat 850 Sport Sider 903cc engine equipped with a PBS head and intake. A pair of Weber 40DCOE carburetors handle fuel delivery. The engine produces 100 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque and sends power through a Hewland transaxle. The engine has been freshly rebuilt and is ready for competition. A spare parts kit is available.
