2007 Saleen S821 Extreme
The Saleen S281 built upon the performance of the S197 Mustang chassis but with a significant increase in performance. The Stage 3 version, the aptly named "Extreme" edition, produced an explosive 550 horsepower, outperforming even Ford's top-of-the-line GT500. The Extreme's 4.6L V8 no longer relied on a Ford-supplied engine. Instead, Saleen built these engines in-house for maximum performance and mated them to a proprietary Series VI integrated twin-scroll supercharger. Only 46 of these S281Es were ever produced, making them highly collectible pieces of Saleen's history. This 2007 Saleen S281 Extreme is a pristine example with only 4,382 miles on the odometer. The body is finished in Tungsten Silver over a black leather interior. It is a highly-options example, including a tinted glass Scenery Roof, 20-inch chrome wheels, an Extreme-specific aero kit, and carbon fiber front and rear trim. The engine has been enhanced with a C&L cold air intake and pulley kit, providing an 80 horsepower increase from stock. The 4.6L supercharged V8 now sends approximately 620 horsepower through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The S281 Extreme offers a visceral driving experience rarely found in a modern vehicle combined with the reliability of a well-built Ford V8. It is in turn-key condition and is ready for whatever roads lay ahead. It comes with a clean CarFax, the original intake and pulley, and excellent documentation.
