2005 Lotus Elise
Redesigned for 2001, the Series 2 Lotus Elise was a massive jump forward from the outgoing Series 1. The original Rover K-Series engine was replaced with a modified Toyota 1ZZ-FE producing a significant 60 horsepower increase. The 1Z-FE engine was equipped with a high-performance Yamaha-designed twin-cam VVT head and was controlled with a Lotus-programmed ECU. The result is a high-performance engine with an 8,500 RPM redline and reliability not generally found in European sports cars. This highly optioned 2005 Lotus Elise has accumulated only 691 miles over the course of its life and remains in like-new condition. It features the Touring package, optional Lotus Stage 2 performance exhaust, factory upgraded Blaupunkt speakers, a leather-wrapped two-tone steering wheel, a factory hardtop, color-matched rear diffuser and fuel door, and black Alcantara interior treatment over the door sills, center console, dash, and headliner. It was also equipped with an aftermarket head unit with iPod connectivity. The Phantom Black paint has been protected since new with a clear 3M clear film and is still in like-new condition. The wheels were custom ordered in a red powder-coat to match the red leather interior, created a striking combination that perfectly suits the design of the Series Two Elise.
