2005 Bentley Continental GT
The first-generation Bentley Continental GT was a departure from its predecessor in both styling and drivetrain. While the previous Continental R and T featured squarer body, similar to many Bentley body styles from the 70s-90s, the new GT wore sleeker sheet metal surrounding a new Volkswagen-developed chassis. Similarly, the engine and drivetrain were entirely new to the GT. Bentley was sure to give the Continental ample power to fit with its new sporting looks by utilizing a twin-turbocharged 6L W12 motor rated at 552HP and 479 lb-ft of torque, a ZF Tiptronic gearbox, and Torsen-based permanent four-wheel drive system. All of this propelled the 5,181lb coupe to 60 in just 4.5 seconds and would reach a sweltering top speed of 197 miles per hour. But the Continental GT’s absurd performance did not hamper the expectations of luxury that come with the Bentley nameplate. With a fully electronically adjustable suspension ranging from sport to comfort and multiple ride heights, the Continental GT was a machine with dual personalities. The interior of the Continental GT is pure Bentley. Supple leather and hand-laid wood veneers envelop the occupants with unbeatable fit and finish. This 2005 Bentley Continental GT is finished in Silver Tempest over Burnt Oak leather and features a beautiful set of two-piece 7-spoke Mulliner Driving Specification wheels. The understated yet classic color combination suits the sleek, modern bodylines. Both the exterior and interior are in excellent condition, still appearing practically new. Interior Burl veneers and brightwork are still breathtaking, almost appearing to still be wet with fresh varnish.
