It’s not unusual for mid-year Corvettes to change hands many, many, many times over the years with no verifiable record of who owned the car when and for how long. Here’s the exception to the rule: This extraordinary ’64 Roadster, had one owner from 1964 to 1968, a Mr. Michael Dunn. Mr. Dunn then sold the car to Mr. Blair Van Camp… and it has been in his family ever since. That’s over 50 years of single family ownership. Extraordinary!

From the late 1970’s until 2003 the car sat unused in a secure garage, at which time the torch was picked up by Mr. Van Camp’s sister who commissioned a complete and fully documented restoration. (Documents show that the original mileage when the car was parked was 15,800!) Photos show the condition of the car when the restoration was started, and it was in nice, completely original condition, still wearing its original Riverside Red paint. The records document the full restoration process until completion in 2004.

The original motor, a fuel injected unit, was removed from the car back in the early 1970’s when the car was stolen and went missing for a few months. Connecticut State Police located the car sans engine. When the restoration was done in 2004 a brand new 327 crate motor was sourced and installed.

The owner and her husband have enjoyed the car immensely over the years since the restoration, accruing just over 9000 miles during that time. During their ownership it has been beautifully maintained and today runs and drives exceptionally well.

The car comes with full restoration documentation, soft top and the original factory hard top, the original owner’s manual, and the original Connecticut title issued to Mr. Van Camp in 1968.
