The Lotus Seven is, with exception to the Mini Cooper, the most iconic and instantly recognizable automotive design to come out of the United Kingdom. The Seven took Lotus’ motif of lightweight sports cars and took it to an extreme only seen on the race track. At a svelte 1,200 lbs. the Seven has less weight to push around that any of its road-going peers and, helped by an advanced fully independent suspension setup, has world-famous handling characteristics. Even the most basic of Sevens are a joy to drive but, with low power output and drum brakes on all for corners, leave a space in the Seven lineup that had to be filled. While the top of the line Series I Lotus Sevens used a 1,098cc Coventry Climax engine, Chapman felt the cost was prohibitive compared to the performance the engine promised and helped develop a new powerplant for the Series II.

This 1961 Super Seven is powered by a Lotus Twin-Cam engine with dual Weber carburetors making an approximate 180 horsepower. Combined with an ultra-light curb weight of 1,200 pounds, the Super Seven offers a remarkable power to weight ratio and unmatched driver engagement. Few cars are as fun to drive than a proper open-top Lotus. This car features green bodywork and unpainted aluminum panels over a red vinyl interior, giving it a classic and instantly recognizable look the Seven made so famous. This car comes with significant documentation, including receipts and details of a full engine rebuild. Our Super Seven is a turn-key weekend warrior ready for your favorite winding roads or a day at the autocross course!
